We Can Be Very Blind

Luke 24:13-35

That first evening following the Resurrection saw the disciples in a state of distress. They’d seen events that had been prophesied, yet failed to immediately recognize that Jesus was Who the prophecies were written about.

When we worship in church or read our Bibles, we know Jesus in the Scripture. When we share communion, Jesus’ sacrifice is made known to us in a special way. Yet, we often overlook Him in the smaller details of our lives.

Maybe those first disciples weren’t much different from us. We know about Jesus, we know what He’s done, but we can fail to see Him at work elsewhere. It can be hard for us to hear His voice, especially when worn down by the world’s cares.

May we continually pray to be aware of His presence in all areas of our lives.
